Sam Montana provided an answer to this question in this review of Bose:Bose Corporation was founded in 1964 by Dr. Amar G. Bose. At the time, Dr. Bose was a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 1968, Bose introduced the 901 Direct/Reflecting speaker. In 1984, Bose came out with the Waveguide Speaker technology. In 1987, Dr. Bose and Dr. William Short were named Inventor of the Year honors for their waveguide speaker technology. Bose established the Bose Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1989. The award is given annually to a faculty member at MIT for teaching contributions. Bose Corporation received the Red Dot Award for Design Team of the Year 2008. Dr. Amar Bose was inducted into the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame in 2007.  more

Sam Montana provided an answer to this question in this review of Bose:Shipping rates at Bose are calculated at the checkout based on the shipping method and the size of the order. The shipping methods offered are: USPS Standard shipping or UPS Ground depending on the weight of the order, 8 days delivery at most. UPS Express, 2 days delivery. Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands are shipped by UPS Express Shipping. If you are not happy with your purchase, you can return it to Bose within the 30 day trial period for a full refund. The trial period is 45 days for the L1 Systems.
